Anyone out there done a trim job on the core support? I know there is tons of info on trimming the fenders and I have already cut mine up quite a bit, now I need even more room. I am trying to keep this truck as low as possible and the new front axle i am swapping in has more steering travel than my old D60.

I am looking to cut my fenders, grill and core support below the head light and remove the turn signal. I am planning to add some supports back to the core support, the idea is to keep the inner fenders to keep the crap out of the engine compartment. I found a Dodge that 4Wheel and Offroad built for their Ultimate Adventure a few years back, it is very close to what I am looking to do but I cant find any good photos of the core support. Anyone done anything like this?!?

Here is their Dodge

This is what I am working on, you can see a line above the turn signal, that is where I would like to cut.

The radiator support trimming is pretty straightforward and you should still have a couple bolts to keep the fender attached to it. Do you want the inner fender modified so it attaches to the radiator support?

Yeah, I plan to cut the inner fender and weld in some material to make it attach to the new raised core support section directly below the head light.

I have not seen any details on this but that's exactly my goal and I am guessing you will be my Guinea pig :pimp:

While setting up my 4 link I decided to go ahead and trim the driver fender, of course I forgot to take any photos of the actual trim but in this photo you can see how high I trimmed the fender. I will get some better photos when I clean it up and start trimming the core support.

Here is a few pics of how the core support trimming is going, I have been working on it in between finishing up the suspension. so it has been a little slow. I still need to workout the inner fenders and trim the battery trays but I really like how it is looking!

Here is the side shot and you can see how high I trimmed the "fang"

I welded in some caps into the fender, it helped stiffen it up and will keep mud from getting up inside the fender. You can also see the brace I added to help re-enforce the core support after I trimmed for the innercooler and fender.

:D

I need to take the plunge and do some cutting up front also, not at much, but still not looking forward to it. Might loose a lot of inner fender.

Here is a little update on the front end, got my LED signals hooked up and in the last two photos you can see that I trimmed the bumper more. Haven't decided what exactly I will do with the bumper but for now I plan to mount some LED floods under my turn signals and see how they fill it in.
