I need to know how much room there is in front of the core support when the hood is closed. I don't have my hood on yet and want to mount my coolers and run my lines. Does the hood drop over the front edge of the core support. My coolers are large and I want to mount them up near the top.

I will post a pic later for clarification later when I get home.

Hood sits basically level with the core support. I think the hood latch and grill support will be what gets in your way if anything.

I am concerned with the area where the red lines are. From looking at my hood I think it covers this area. But not sure. Can someone measure this area with the hood closed.
I want to run the cooler lines along this edge. I don't have enough room to run both coolers horizontally because of the fittings required. Even if I offset them there isn't enough room.

Any reason you couldn't fab some brackts to mount the cooler horizontally with some 90* fittings for the lines?

Similar to this?

Not enough room to run them both that way. They are perma cool tank style and the fittings come out the top. I have one for the Trans and one for the engine.

Why not cut a hole through the core support on one side and mount a cooler competely to the side of the radiator?

Since the Blazer doesn't use the double-headlight setup of the Jimmy, there is "dead space" on both sides of the radiator. By cutting a hole you'll get airflow from the grille through your cooler and into the engine compartment. In some ways it might be better because you won't be blocking the radiator with other coolers in front of it.

Just a thought..... I was considering doing my own setup this way.

Why not cut a hole through the core support on one side and mount a cooler completely to the side of the radiator? :usaflag:

My batteries are located next to the radiator, one on each side.
It's a trade off of having the coolers in front of the radiator blocking some of the air flow to the radiator but also provides air flow across the coolers. I'm running the windstar fans and hope they pull enough air in.

I think I may have a solution:thinking: I'm going to pick up some brass street 90's today and have the lines come out horizontally from the coolers. I may then be able to stack them on top of each other and not be in the area of concern near the top of the core support.

There's lots of room at those red lines or below. Theres
At least a couple inches open above those red lines. The stock radiator brackets are at least an inch above the top of the core support.

The part I am worried about is this part of the hood. By my measurements from the latch pin to the core it appears that it will hang over in front of the core support and also be very close to it.
I don't think I can run my lines on the front face near the top of the core support.
I bought some street 90's and am going to try to run them horizontally.

I just went out and looked at my hood and yes now I see what you are concerned with. Sorry It will be quite a while until my hood goes back on for that picture and or measurment.
