Has anyone converted their 8 lug 14 bolt sf to a 6 lug? is this possible and is it strong? I basically did my lift and bought my tires (37 in boggers on 15 inch rims OOPS!) before i realized i should swap out for a 3/4 ton rear. Now im stuck with spacers that go from 8 lug to 6 but i dont trust them. I really dont want to have to get all new rims and tires and am looking for options.
I have a feeling that you are all going to say im screwed but thought id take a chance. this is my first build and it would seem im off in the wrong direction.

Also if i did do this would the rims fit over the drums? if not would a disk brake conversion fit with 15 inch rims?

I think im out of luck and may have to get all new rubber, if so and anyone needs 37'boggers on 15 inch rims let me know. hopefully ill be able to keep my set up and make it work solid.

Thanks for reading and for the help!
cheers!

People swap from 6 to 8 lug so it is possible to go from 8 to 6 lug but you'll need to find a 6 lug donor axle to grab the axles and drums. I'm not sure if you'll need to grab the brake back plates as well.

The 6 and 8 lug shafts are different lengths=different housing. The brakes are different too, but could be swapped from the backing plates out, but the shafts still won't be the right length. The easiest thing to do would be to find a complete 6 lug axle
