correct AC delco ignition module question

If in doubt, go to acdelco.com and look it up in the parts search by vehicle. Picking the right "manufacturer" can be somewhat frustrating, but I just go through each one until I get the hit for the right part.

they didn't have either one on there :dunno:

The difference in the 2 part numbers i found is that Delco has a new "professional" line of parts..... one of them is the professional... I have no idea what the real diff is so i just ordered the regular oem one.

The other one adds 100hp!

All I know is that AC Delco has a wide line of "advantage", which are just there to compete with all the made in China junk.

Unfortunately most of the new Delco stuff, if not all, proudly carries the "made in china" badge. "NOS" is probably the way to go, if you can find it. I've not heard bad things about the Chinese Delco stuff, yet. But it's fairly new to the market.

1/2 ton right? D1943A and D1984A are both shown as "correct". As mentioned, 1984 is the "pro" part, 1943 is shown as the "OE" part.

In any case, both were found this way http://parts-catalog.acdelco.com/catalog/catalog_search.php Select year, chev, V10 burb, 350, then just type "modulen" into the search, then scour the results for the module. Searching "ignition module" might work as well.

yeah i just ordered that one.... i do have the oem one i took out... but its 30 years old and lived through an under hood fire

And is still probably better than whatever you end up with. Only partially joking.

Truth. But having a spare ignition module is a good plan.

thats why i kept the original.... Never had the tools to change it in the truck though :doah: :haha:
