I'm looking around for a good price on crossover steering for a D60. Is the Sky-Manufacturing kit any good? How much and where is the best place to buy the steering box and hydraulic ram?

Sky is good stuff, I will likely end up going with their stuff for my S10. I think the guys who make Sky's stuff are now selling in our Vendor Forum here. Steering box, junkyard. Hydro ram, I don't know yet.

Sky makes good stuff. I run there steering arm and spacer and couldn't be happier with there product or customer service.

I have the ORD crossover kit. Quality looks top notch, the kit is very complete and the steering arm itself is very beefy. Came to $375 plus shipping, and included:

Pitman arm
Steering arm
DLE's
Drag link (bent and tapped for the DLE's)
ARP stud kit with nuts

2WD steering box I got from a member on another site.

Ram I'm still shopping for, box is drilled and tapped already though. Just have some plugs in it until i get the ram and stuff bought.

Shackerbuilt does not use the 10* taper that alot of companies use to help keep the TRE's at a better angle to help with TRE longevity and strength.

Will the crossover work ok without the hydro assist? I need to buy a new steering box and would just assume to buy the 2wd one and crossover kit but would need to hold off on the Ram for a while.

So is it absolutely necessary to have a hydro ram with crossover?

no, you do not have to have a hydro ram with crossover. I have been running straight crossover for over 9 months without problems.

it realy helps with offroad and mud with big tires. get the box and plug the ports for now and you will be set later. texas offroad i here is great for hydro stuff.

I run reversed x over hi steer from WFO. I have their D60 arms, tierod, draglink, ends, pitman arm, studs, jam nuts, shims, etc... Their parts are great, customer service is 2nd to none, and they are a Vendor here at CK5. Give Trevor a call and he will hook you up! www.wfoconcepts.com

second recommendation for WFO. They are good peeps, and their parts rock. I run his double arms, and as soon as I get my 52" spring swap taken care of, my tierod will be safely hidden above/behind my axle.
