i've been eyeballing this k30 in the local mountains here for awhile. i finally asked the guy who's property its sitting on about the k30. he told me the owner of the truck is in michigan and asked the owner of the house if he could leave it there for 2 weeks. well, its been 2 years and the property owner wants it gone. i got the phone number of the guy in michigan, so i figured i'd call and see what kind of deal i can work. in the meantime, i asked the owner of the house to call the truck owner and tell him he wants the truck gone, like now. mileage on this thing is unknown, and the neighbors say the motor didn't sound too good 2 years ago when they heard it run last. anyway heres some pics. what would you guys offer the dude in a situation like this?

Just tell him you will go to the trouble of getting rid of it for free. it wont cost him a thing to get rid of it. :D

i was thinking of offering $1000, does that sound like too much?
Start lower. Try starting at $500. Always start low and work your way up. He may say "deal!" and you get it for that cheap.

I would go even lower just to see if he bites, 200 bucks then go up from there. The most he can say is no. He may even say give me 300 and its a deal, then you will have saved 200. start LOW.

ok let me ask this, the owner of the house hasn't even heard from the owner of the truck ever since he left it there. is there anyway to, for lack of a better word, homestead the thing?

tell the home owner you will give him $100 and you will get rid of it.

take all you need and scrap the rest

X2. the owner is not responsible for the truck. He has the right to have it removed from his property. Its abandoned as far as he's concerned.

Yes, have the land owner file for a mechanics lien for storage fees. Offer to pay all cost of the filing in exchange for him signing over the title when recieved. Do not take delivery until he signs the title over to you and you have title in hand.
