Counterfeit Mitutoyo Calipers

I’ll post some photos and details tonight, but be aware there are a flood of counterfeit Mitutoyo calipers out there right now. They will not cal throughout the range. That’s how we realized they were fakes.

There have been for a while. If it's high quality but easily faked, buy it direct if at all possible or through authorized vendors. Otherwise you are rolling the dice to get a fake from amazon.

Definitely a problem.
Watch out for counterfeit loctite also. That one can be dangerous.

I was genuinely concerned because we did just buy Mitutoyo calipers from Amazon. Luckily ours looks like the picture of the read deal posted here.

Mine are old enough that the Mitutoyos were the “value” brand. The old guys all had Starretts. Enco was the real cheap brand. None of them were digital. Guess I am old

Yeah I couldn't afford Starrett either when I bought my Mitutoyo's. The only Starrett I have belonged to my great grand father.

Bought in 1978, had to have it to start a new job, cost me 5 hrs pay at the time. Still use it…alot!
