Well I'm happy the truck doesnt have to go anymore, just the one tons (sigh yeah not too happy but I gotta prioritize). So I'm mapping out my summer projects and one of them is to get rid of this saddle tank to make room for sliders. I want to replace it with a blazer tank.

I already know that you tuck it up between the frame and thats basically it BUT my question lies where I cant seem to find answers with search. What about the gauge and pump? Can I buy a $130 aftermarket blazer tank, drop my pump sender in it from my saddle tank and thats it? Is it plug and play? If the gauge is incorrect am I looking at changing out the sender or the gauge?

My other more immediate question is about my stumbling idle issue. My truck runs GREAT. Can mash the gas and friggin take off, runs like a bat out of hell and I get 15mpgs :D I just recently fixed my timing since it was retarded 3* from stock for some reason and its been running even better.

Other than the stumbling idle I get a dieseling affect when I shut the truck off. It stumbles for a second or two like it wants to keep running but then goes O wait no more spark and cuts out. A mechanic that comes into the advanced auto I work at that I'm friendly with said it sounds like a leaky injector. The more I drive it the more I'm starting to think hes spot on because if I really mash the gas I get a little odour de gasolina.

What do you guys think? Pull the TBI and rebuild the whole thing?

The sender and pump are the same. Just plug and play like you said.
Are you sure your timing is right? If its dieseling sounds to me like youre too far advanced. Is it running hot?

Senders all fit the tanks, however sender "depth" is the difference.

Blazer tanks have two different tank depths based on capacity, and I suspect the saddle tanks have at least two different sender depths as well.

Yes, no problem with the right sender. All GM guages/senders are set up for the same measuring specs.
