hello to everyone and here's hoping for help from everyone

i have a 79 k5 and just installed 700r4 w/my 203 t-case. question is where to get a new longer front driveshaft. everything moved back about 2" w/ new tranny and now my spline is showing. please keep inmind this is mild rig and not built for crawling or major flex, mainly mud and hunting trails so i do not need a super hi $ shaft. if it helps, i am running 6" rough country springs and 36" iroks. also, can someone please explain crossover steering. it has been suggested to me but i am not 100% sure i understand it.

thanks,
trey

ps any eastcoaster hangin around?

The stock steering is push/pull or front to back. When you get your tires wedged they will not turn. When you go to crossover steering the steering is side to side. Check out the following link for an excellent explanation. http://www.offroaddesign.com/Dana44crossover.htm

When you are on that site, search out the steering brace. With larger tires, you will eventually crack the frame around the steering box, if not rip it off the frame. This is a known weak spot with our frames, so it would be worth it to stop the problem before it starts.

You can take your old driveshaft in to a local shop and have it lengthened.

$25 and make your own square driveshaft. It wont be balanced but its not like your going fast enough in 4x4 to make a difference. Serach on pirate4x4 theres a ton of threads
