Couple of teaser pic\'s

Been working on my cage for the last week, almost done and thought I'd post up a few teasers. Gonna remove the topper tomorrow and hopefully finish welding it and get it painted.

Here is the front area with the seat bridge:

A shot of the bracing from inside:

A pic of the cage from the rear of the truck:

Re: Couple of teaser pic\'s

that looks really good Rene, did you graph a first gen windsheild frame on? Or how are you using a fulltop when you cut the top off a while ago?

Looks really strong, simular to what I was planning in some ways.

Looks great man! /forums/images/graemlins/bow.gif I take it there will be no more backseat passengers /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif Do you have some aftermarket seats to go in when you are done? Looks like a lot of work....I like it /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Thanks Joe. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Me and my buddy Stan have close to 40 hours into the cage so far... /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif Bending the tube is the easiest part by far, designing each part is the big PITA. Way too many wierd curves and angles inside a truck.

We will be doing Stan's cage next, but his will be a little different...mostly because he still has the half cab.

Hopefully my dash pad doesn't turn out ugly, I went through the speaker holes but haven't notched the dash pad yet.

I gutted a Toyota Celica GT interior and am mounting it all in my Jimmy. The front seats and belts are in, and tomorrow I'll be building a rear seat bridge for the rear seat and belts. I'm hoping to retain the fold down feature of the Toy seats, just in case I ever need the room.

It's still a DD so no aftermarket seats for me yet. If t ever becomes a strict off road toy then I'll add harness's and racing seats.

I haven't done the windshield frame yet, it's still sitting in the backyard /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif

The original roof has just been hacked to clear the full topper...and I'm still using 'Fumes's custom topper brackets. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I hope I never have to find out exactly how sturdy...but it's nice that it's there just in case. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Re: Couple of teaser pic\'s

Very nice. Hope mine turns out as nice. I don't think I can fit that many feet of tubing in mine anymore.

Re: Couple of teaser pic\'s

I'll prolly be near 130 feet when done... /forums/images/graemlins/yikes.gif

My roof is a bit longer than yours though. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: Couple of teaser pic\'s

Look's awesome Rene,/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif glad you had someone to help you with yours, I have been doing my cage by myself; rope, bungie cords, and ratchet straps are your friend when you have to build a cage by yourself./forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Finished the rear down bars today, trying to finish all of the main tubing this week, then I will triangulate the crap out of everything this weekend with a little luck.

Looking good. You really can come up with some weird stuff when your working by your self can't ya! My two oldest boys have been visiting their mother for the last month so I haven't had any helpers lately. They will be home on Tuesday and then its fab time for my cage.
