I want to convert the 14bff to discs before i throw it on my truck just because i see myself doing it later on down the road anyways. My truck see quiet a bit of mud so it seems like a good idea.

What do i have to get the parts off of?
Will a 1/2 ton disc and caliper work with the ORD kit?
Or do i need 3/4 or 1 ton parts?

I was just working on mine tonight. I am doing rear disk with no e-brake and adding cutting brakes. Give me a minute and I will get the part numbers for everything.

From Advance Auto Parts.

Caliper 18-4046 Left
Caliper 18-4045 Right
2 Rotors YH141049
Brake Pads MKD 52

All of that is for a 77 K20 Pick Up.

From Napa Auto Parts.

2 Brake Hoses 36616
2 Banjo Bolts 82701
2 Brake line clips

Not sure of the application for those parts but they work great.

Just over $200 for it all. I had to pay the core charge for the calipers because of not having any to turn in. I used my stock wheel studs and even with the thick Walker Evans beadlocks I have plenty of threads sticking out. I used Ruffstuff brackets because Adventurous is a dealer for them.

THAT WOULD BE AWESOME! Did you buy everything new or junkyard parts?

I would just get everything new, and you can order from Advance on their website and get good discounts and either pick it up or have it shipped to your door for free if over $75.

The hardest thing to get my hands on is going to be the rotors i think. Unless i can find a way to use half ton rotors.. I have a pile of those..

Any idea if i can pull parts off an 05 chevy 1/2 ton? it has rear discs

The 05' stuff won't work. Don't know if Adventurous4x4 sells the caliper bracket or not, sounds like he is helping you out. If not, get the brackets from Diy4x.com, they are the best I've seen on the market. Everything else, 3/4 ton front stuff is what you want. What wheels are you runing? You will need longer wheel studs. If you do a search on here, you will find lot of info.

Rotors MUST be 73-87 3/4 ton 4wd front rotors (these are 8 lug and will directly replace the 8 lug drums on the 14ff).

Thanks guys for the input. i have everything but the rotors now, i'll grab some tomorrow.

Any opinions on the ORD kit?

Why do you need longer wheel studs? I am using the ones I pulled out with the drums and have plenty of threads. We sell Ruffstuff products and that is why I went with it. Everything lined up fine and I am sure Kert's would be the same quality. (I buy stuff from him too for my personal use.) Before spending $50 on studs check to make sure you need them.

I think it varies with your wheel and stuff Wayne, I have to use longer studs on mine because I didn't have enough thread engagement with my aluminum rims. Glad yours worked out better.

Must be some thickass aluminum wheels :tongue1: I'm running an aluminum wheel, although it is a factory made wheel off a H2, but threads and studs are definately not an issue. :smile1:
