1. Ok I am about to reomve my seats to install new ones at this time I will also be removeing all of the carpet and drying it some how. While the interior is gutted I want to coat the floor in something before i go and put the carpet back in any ideas.

2. The new seats I am installing are electric seats out of a 97 chevy pickup. Is there any things I need to run them othere than wirning properly? I know the mounts will be different but thats is not a issue.

3. I am going to be installing a 4 inch lift on her and was wondering if it is worth moveing the shackle hanger forward and running a longer shackle to get a nicer ride. This k5 is my dd so I am looking to make it a little nicer in the ride department. Oh and this question is for the front axle.

4. Does anyone know what color the wires are for the oil pressure gauge? I have found that the po before me decided he would cut all the wires and twist them back together and use tape to hold them:doah:

Thanks in adavance Denny

I wouldn't even reuse the old carpet. I would just herculine it, or even rubberize it with under coating if you don't want the rough texture.

If you are going to drive it, put carpet back in. Its loud w/o.

On the power seats, no , all you need is power wires. I would run switched ign. So shoot, really only one, and a good ground to the body.

If you do recarpet it, get new carpet. I herculined mine with a 454 and I don't hear a big difference.

I replaced my carpet in my blazer and if I had to do it again I would not do carpet. They also sell a thick rubber mat to lay on the inside of your truck same cut out as carpet. That is what I would go with if I had to do it again. Much easier to clean and it still keeps the road noise down. The first time I took the dirtbikes out and everyone climbed in with there muddy boots the new carpet was done!

You put new carpet in w/o floor mats?

If you off road it, dont put carpet back, if its a mall cruiser get NEW carpet. Dont reuse, let alone try and dye carpet, itll looks like sh!t. I got my interior LIne Xd, more than happy with it. I dont worry about carpet, stains, rips, tears, rust, etc etc. It was only marginaly louder, not enuff to make a diff. just have to get use to it.

Thanks guys for the replys. It's a daily driver and mall cruiser. I like haveing the carpet but the rubber mat thing might be pretty cool. Got any pics ? If I was to buy new carpet where would you guys recommend ?

If its a mall cruiser as you say, get new carpet (or clean your new carpet), then get some good husky floor mats. Hell, what color, i have some front grey floor liners that i'd ship you for shipping and maybe a 6 pack.

If not, get good floor mats. They rock, and you don't have to worry about your carpet.
