well, first off...let me say that i pretty much stole the axles/trans and case out of a CUCV m1028. it's a th400/205 fixed yoke. i am missing a few things, and the trans/case had been sitting for a while in the clay/mud/weather

first off, since the trans has been sitting, should i rebuild it??? it had less than 20k miles on it and as supposably in good working order, should i change the fluid and run it???

also, i need a torque converter to install it behind my 350 and soon to be 454(350 for the time being) which one would you guys recomend?

third, will the flexplate from my 700r4 bolt up to the converter i buy????

this is a LOW budget mud truck that wont be street driven, so cheaper the better guys!!!

thanks
~Dave

i got a 48k orignal state truck . th400/205 year 88 new.

last summer i swaped it in my plow rig. been going great since. only did a full fluid flush and bottle of trans-x in it. :D

I think the governor needs to be changed too.
x2 I think diesels have a different governor. That would explain why my m1009 always shifts into 3rd at about 36 mph no matter how hard im hitting the throttle
