Whatever your cousin decides to do, let him know that if he puts a V8 in it sooner or later, I will buy all the bolt on stuff off his inline 6.

I had an '81 SWB 4x4 once and it came stock with a 250 inline. Best truck I ever had. It got 18 mpg on the highway. Sold it to buy some big tires and rims.

I would love to find another SWB truck and put a 250 back in it. I can find the inline motors all over around here but not the brackets, accessories, etc.

I will buy all the stuff off his motor, the motor mounts, distributor, anything that he doesn't want. Just leave the motor as you guys are too far to pick it up.

will be keeping the motor for a while. for now he just wants to add p/s to it. if you have the parts ill buy them off you

It don't have power steering? Looks like that the bracket and pump in the very last pic under the radiator hose.

Never mind. I checked again by blowing up the pic and theres wires on the back of it. Its the alternator. I've never seen an alternator way down low like that on an inline before.

time to invest in a rattle can paint job :)

with enough prep, even spray paint comes out good. just learn from my mistake, and dont clearcoat chrome spraypaint, it turns it a kind of hammered gray.

didnt find anything on the motor. how can i tell if it a 250? was told there is a 230,250 and i think he said 292 maybe?? thanks

I'm gonna bet its a 250. Check the smog sticker on the radiator support. If not there, try the air cleaner. Also check the RPO sticker in the glove box. If nothing, decode the VIN and it'll tell you.

man I wish I had short bed chevy 4x4 when I was 15. Besides the faded paint its looks pretty darn good

slandered chevy rust. cab corners, rockers and a bit in the back where the wheels spit up everything. rest is good

hmmm your close to me... tell him he needs a bling bling seat for it!!!! im thinking to go buckets!!!!!!! :haha:
