Installing a 4" Tuff Country Lift on my 1972 K10. I noticed the driver side spring perch on the front axle was cracked front and rear on the vertical face that runs parallel with the axle. Didn't notice the crack before I started the install and couldn't see it in any of my before pics. The picture is from before the cracks, so I penciled in where the crack is with red. Anybody ever seen this before? Will post pics of the damage later today.

I've seen that before.

The factory perches are just stamped parts so they are just hollow under there.

You can probably weld it and reinforce it a bit, or just replace it with a beefy aftermarket perch.

Tuff Country instructions:

Step 2: Go to doctor for treatment of hernia once 130Lb/ft is achieved. :haha:

Step 3: Get thee a big honkin cheater pipe. I use the handle from my old floor jack.

Also a 3/4" breaker bar, as 1/2" breaker bars can be bent, hypothetically speaking.
