Just my luck! Finally finish up this engine swap (had to fight just about everything I did on this one... Usually takes 4 - 5 hours to swap an engine, not 4 - 5 days!), and start bleeding the fuel system out. I used my vaccum pump to draw fuel up and into the primary filter, then hooked it back up to the lift pump once I got fuel coming out of it.

Hit the starter to fill the secondary filter with the lift pump and am treated to a fine spray of diesel fuel spitting out right where the line heater and tube meet :(

So much for getting it running today, not sure where I'm gonna find a new line to replace that one either, diesels with spin on filters arn't that common around here.

Oh well, guess I'll have to finish it up sometime next week, have to keep driving the turd (F250) for another week or so.

Its the line that runs from the lift pump to the inlet of the secondary filter. It is the line that has the heater on it, only found on spin on filter system equipped trucks.

Dang, I pinched mine off when I removed it because I wasn't planning to use it anymore :( If you want to splice it, the heater part is all good, you're welcome to it.

'Course, this could be a good excuse to go pick up a Racor filter setup with it's own fuel heater . . .

Anyway, here's what I got, there's about two and a half inches left downstream of the heater . . .
