anyone have one? how do you like it? i have friends that work for sears i can get it for 78 bucks.. didnt know they had one.. thanks for the help

I have one and I love it. I don't really use it as an impact though, more of a tear down and quick assembly tool. Snug things up with it and then tighten them down by hand.

Yah, but at that point, why use a 1/2 in drive one? My light little Makita Impact does the assembly and tear down fine...

I just saw that, I have a different one. Mine has the interchangable ends.

The 18v one, came in the 18v combo kit with hammer drill. It rocks. On my phone, but I think it's this one.

I run a 3/8 socket adapter, and use an adapter to 1/2 sockets as needed. 1330in/lbs is about 100ft/lbs, plenty for most assembly and a lot of disassembly. And if you've never used a cordless impact, you'll be amazed at how much better it drives screws compared to a cordless drill. I've barely used the drill in the set at all.

Favorite recent tool purchase by far.

thanks i i am going for it.. i got to use a craftsman the other night. not worth the money. seems pretty weak. batteries dont last long

im with dcomp...I have the same makita 1/4 drive impact and use it for everything...I have the 1/2" too, but rarely use it because of its size and weight, but its good for the big bolts... those 1/4" impact drivers (clackers...) are badass and fit almost everywhere.

I have a Dewalt 18v 1/2" drive impact.....Cordless impacts are the SHIZ! :woot:
Then again, so are torque wrenches....

when looking at cordless tool lines, it's always smart to look at the whole line, what you may want down the road, etc, etc... it's one of the advantages Dewalt stuff has, the variety of tools in the line...

whereas some, like Milwaukee, Mac and Snappy are very limited in selection.... Snappy's impact absolutely rules in impacts.... and your obviously paying for it... really, WHAT particular battery system you get into is the most important to me...

tho my Snappy and Mac stuff are outstanding performance-wise, if I was getting into something new, it would be Dewalt or Makita... but, the Dewalt quality is nothing compared to the new Makita ion stuff... quite cheesy compared to the Makita stuff, tho I'm sure the price reflects that....

I got my Dewalt on sale, for ~$150.... (Cyber Monday deal.)

I get what Ryoken means about the price/quality equation.
My dewalt is heavy, and feels sturdy, but to look at it you'd swear it was a kid toy. :haha:

This is the kit I got, fwiw...

good price. i would buy that right now if i could find it for 150.. i will watch. hope it goes on sale again thanks

That dewalt is a totally different tool, with a weight and size to match.

My Makita with full size battery is light, and gets even lighter if I steal the compact 18v pack from the compact 18v drill I got my dad
