Cragislist find Blazer

I've seen that truck around... Doesn't look to be to bad, the only thing that would scare me is the gears in the front diff.

IFS lifts are SKETCHY and there were some real turds out there. Lord knows what he has, if it was installed correctly, if it's still all in alignment, and what the steering geometry and condition is.

Front diff is on borrowed time with 35's. In fact...I believe there's only a few companies that make gears lower than 4.56's for the AAMCo 8.25" IFS front diff that has.

I wouldn't even consider it. Aside from the 10mpg, crap lift, and big tires it's basically a $3000 truck, maybe less, with a bunch of junk you don't want on it.

is it on the road?
is it driveable and insured registered?

if it is... take it to a inspection station for high rise vehicles.... let them tell you if it is going to pass inspection (9" lift) sorry but dont think so...

im on 6" lift, 1" ord front and 38's and im on the line.. plus im in a higher weight limit than you.....

if it is not on the road
call inspection and tell them what you are looking at and tell them what does it need to be legal....

im only pushing this part because.. if you buy it.. your gonna want to drive it right... and if so.. do you want it to fail inspection?

gears, ifs, all that can be changed later if YOU really like the truck... just make sure prick-if-eyed NJ aint gonna screw you too....

oh yeah ask him if it ever went through high rise inspection and if he has the papers.. they are transferable.. actually they are part of the truck...

Jeesh, forgot about NJ and your legal BS.

I was thinking as a road vehicle since your Ram is your DD (I believe you said that). If it's for a wheeler...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHACOUGHSNORT...
10 bolt rear axle and a front axle that's weaker than a 10 bolt with 35's...forget it.

It's junk.

I'd take one of those Blazers with stock tires and no lift but WOULD NEVER consider one lifted. Even stock the IFS can rattle around and get loose as it ages. Lifts just make it more and more sketchy. I loved my '92 but the DUMBEST thing I ever have done regarding trucks is lift it. WASTE. OF. MONEY. AND. TIME.

Truck

Thanks for the advice guys, you just reinforced what i knew deep down. I was interested until he confirmed it was a IFS front, the gears issue and paint job had already turned me off.
