Craigslist truck... worth it?

Offer $500 and have $650 cash on you, but if you want it buy it seems like a fair price. Now if the body is not rusted out......:doah:

Kinda sucks you cant test drive it without a brake line. Rear end could be gone. OH. Bring some vice grips and some dot 3 fluid. Crimp the broken brake line and top off the mc.

That's a good price these days on 1st gens if the body is decent (even if the motor didn't run).

Thanks for the opinions... I may have to go look at it. I missed a '70 C-10 a few months back for $600... but I think the body was worse.

Im not sure a 292 came in them stock. It could be as small as a 250 you may want to find out for sure. My 69 had a 250, Stovebolts are cool though.

EDIT: heres a web site with the casting numbers link is halfway down the side bar

292's are easy to spot. All of the 'sixes' have 4" tall covers on the passenger side to cover the pushrods--except the 292. Its covers are 6" tall. Honestly, I want a 292 more, but I'll settle for any 'six'. :D
