Hey guys,
I installed a new balancer and found that the previous balancer bolt was barely seated. I purchased a new bold and washer set thinking that the PO had the wrong size / too short bolt installed. Well, the new bolt is the same size, so I assume that the crank is stripped. I tried getting a bolt with the same thread pitch that was 1/4 in ch longer, but it is too long...
I can torque it to ~20 fp. I put some red locktite on my bolt and tightened it as tight as I could get it. There is no play in the washer and it seats well against the balancer.
Do I need to worry that crap will fly off while I'm driving? How do I fix this the correct way?
