Got my serpentine setup I pulled from a 99 vortec 454 onto my 82 454 engine. Got everything all worked out except the crank pulley. The new serp pulley had a smaller hub/lip that fit into the balancer and when I bolted it on its not centered and can see it wobbling down there. It lines up with the belt perfectly, just apparently need one with a bigger hub/lip. It is about 7.5" in diameter and the inside of pulley sticks about 2.25" from balancer and the outside of pulley stick about 3.5" away from the balancer. I'm not certain of the hub/lip diameter on the serp pulley but my old v-belt crank pulley has a 2.25" hub/lip. Does anyone know where to get the correct pulley to fit my balancer or is there an adapter or anything? The engine I pulled the parts off is 70 miles away and the pain in the ass it would be to swap balancers would seriously suck, it was hard enough to swap pulleys.

I don't think I have the right pulley but here's some info to hopefully help narrow it down...

This is the pulley listed for the Kwik Perf kit:

GM#10085753
'88+ C/K truck 454 (per Google search)

overall dia = 7 3/4"
overall height = 3 1/2"
Pilot lip outer dia = 2 1/4"

Sounds like I have the same pulley you have.

Another guy on PBB thinks they changed the balancer on the vortec engines and that is why my pulley doesn't fit.

So there's another serp pulley between mine ('88) and yours ('99)?

Looks like it. Thanks.

My take would be there is the 88-95ish then must have changed around 96 to later (I think vortecs started around 96, right?)

Is there any chance your balancer is wrong?

I've got 3 spare 454 balancers, all from Mark IV v-belt motors, and my pulley fits pretty good. It's not a press fit but snug enough not to be off center.

My balancer is the one that came on it from the 82 chevy I plucked it out of. My old V-belt pulley has the 2.25" hub, I didn't measure the serp pulley but do remember it having a smaller hub.

a little more looking there is a split at 88-93, 94-96, and 97+. Still haven't gotten definitive dimensions on each.
