well my k10 was parked in the back yard last nite and went out the morning tree fell on it cliped the cab and crushed the bed. it was a rot box any way . so what to do for a new project truck?

cucv blazer

or another k10

or a k20/30

what do you guys think?

That sucks! Whatever you get, are there a lot of parts your going to swap over? What are going to do as far as whellin?

I'm about ready to give up on the '85 K-10 Suburban I bought a year ago,if your interested in it--has a 6.2 diesel ,a "sick" 700R4,and 3.73 gears, body isn't too bad, clearcoat is peeling and the inner wheel tubs need some patches, but the rest of it and the underneath is in pretty nice shape still, truck came from WA and was heavily undercoated..I just put a Fisher plow frame & pump on it,and now it has an oil leak, from the rear of the drivers side of the engine--looks like its leaking from the head gasket ??--could be the valve cover or oil pressure sender, but I dont think so..I dont have any more cash to spend on it,and my back wont let me do any major repairs like ahead gasket...ready to cut my losses and ditch it before it snows, much as I hate too...

I'm not that far from RI too!...sorry,no pictures,I cant post any ...

iv got tons of parts il have the 350,sm465,np205 the dana 44 and the 14bolt plus i still have the 12bolt and i have a 6.2 diesel and a nv4500 5speed

i wana make an all around truck something good on fuel and on the tail and the mud and could go cruising in

CUCV 1008 with the NV4500/203/205

Think your Home-Owners Insurance will cover the loss??

idk it wasent registered or insured so no big deal it was rotted bad any way and i was thinking the cucv m1009 blazer with the nv4500 the 205 or whatever transfer case that will work 4 inch lift ether a dana 44 or 60 8lug front and a ff 14 bolt rear with 4.10s. i think it would make a decent trail rig that could if i wanted 2 drive to NH or VT or ME from RI? what do you think?

I say the 1008 cuz then you start with 1-ton axles and 4.56 gears and Detroit rear

FWIW, this truck is still there.

I don't have a dog in this hunt, it won't make any difference to me if it sells or not, I just wish someone would buy it so I don't have to see it everytime when I drive to work.

I do wish someone from this forum would be the one to buy it if it does sell, so that I could feel like I contributed something material to the cause.
But other than that, it does not matter.

You really have to decide what you want.

Why get an M1009?

Why do you think you might need a D60 in the front?

What do you want to do with the rig?

having had a blazer and then not and now again, I love blazers (jimmys) so its the 1009 cucv blazer, thats my vote, just save and find a 60 front. Put the nv behind the 6.2 that would be sweet.

My latest rig is a diesel I love it
