Fired up the new crate motor and with a little tweaking, I'll be in the snow soon.... question for you air flow/carb people:

Does the K&N "X" treme air flow top work like they claim?? Anyone with experience on this??? K&N claims a extra 525 cubic feet/min of airflow....
I have a new Edelb. Q-Jet 750 cfm, K&N filter with a comp cam, headers, and all MSD.
Thanks.........

HE will always get you out of the mire clay!!!

I think it would help. I got one, but haven't had it on a running engine yet.
Plus it would double the air it can bring in. I think it would work great on a cowl induction hood.

I can't wait to try mine out. I have to get the engine completed first.

They do work some. Although the dyno runs I saw were hoodless so that may have something to do with it. One things no one seems to ever comment on, especially in the offroading forems is that the K&N filter elements and tops do let more dirt through along with the air. I still like the quality plain jane filter and a dual snorkle setup w/ some fab/tweaking of the factory snorkle attachments on the grill. But anyways on the dyno testing I saw they did work for a couple hp up high and with the right setup.
