I've decided to go for a 350 crate engine(new) and replace my worn 305. Anyone know were i can get a good one. I was looking at Jegs and I thought to ask you guys seeing some of you probaly already swapped one in your trucks. I also live in Canada so something with low shipping costs would be ideal. I just want something reliable...not trying to make my truck a power house just a daily driver.
Thanks

I found this link one day while looking for crate engines http://www.lowcostengines.com/ . I have never bought an engine from them, but they do seem to have the lowest prices on crate engines I have seen. This company http://www.sdpc2000.com/ is a good place to get crate engines too. They have been selling crate engines for many years, and also offer very competitive prices as well.

Local Chevy dealer. No shipping cost, and oftentimes quite reasonable.

Few years back I bought a brand new (not rebuilt) GM crate 350 for ~US$1400, as I recall. I have three or four dealers close, so I called around ... one was a coupla hundred higher than the others, so I shied away from them.

Anyway, while it's not a hi-po big fancy chrome job, it's as good or better than when the truck left the factory floor, and it's affordable.

I am thinking of checking some local GM dealers in town as well for crate engine prices. Since there are a few GM dealers on the Internet offering good prices on crate engines, then maybe my local GM dealers can do the same.

I got a GM target master 350. Not sure on the prices now but came from the dealer and it is a good engine. There prices are not to bad, and it's local.
