I was talking to a buddy of mine about the needed strength of components on a full-size vs smaller rigs and how they can get away with little baby links and shafts. Rock crawlers in general get beat up underside but let's show em off and see what you've done to take a hit underneath.

I took a couple pictures to show the latest from katemcy rocks.

Core support took a good push rearward throughout the weekend. It's just getting worse.

Rest of it took it like a champ.

I need to figure out a better skid or change in material.

I dunno, it looks like your skid is doing it's job!!!
My skid is aluminum and it seems to be too soft and I get hung up on it in low traction situations. I should probably consider other materials?

I was going to post some pics of mine but they look like shopping cart dings compared to those trophies!

I got really good at pulling my core support back. Took only a minute or two with a strap around a tree. Then good as new :)

In the rear I have a minimalist tube bumper which keeps the quarter corners from getting bent up too high. This thing has literally saved me so many hours of tailgate issues, exhaust pinches, and brake light replacements. Just a single tube extends about .500" before the outer skin.

Maybe a harder aluminum?

Take a big rock put your weight over it a try to slide it against some aluminum. Then do the same with some steel.

The whole reason Twinkie looks the way it does is because of body damage. Make smaller to get less.

this is why it got narrowed and rock sliders put on.

I saw alot of narrowed Broncos out there this weekend that did very well.

Here's Ryan's rocker lol other side is way worse now with my spotting lol

The first pic below happened a month ago while wheeling 21 Rd Trail in Grand Junction, CO.

The second and third pics kinda shows my whole driver rear quarter panel. Doesn't look as bad in the pic, but in person you can see I've pushed it in (and then consequently took out my factory tail lights) about 5 times (hence why you see my tail lights the way they are now in that pic, haha)

Below you can see the skidplate/crossmember I built years ago for my truck. The first 3 pics are of when I was installing my Titan/205, but you can see how I built it. May not be the best fab work I've ever done, and it hangs down a little bit more than other peoples, but I have beat the living crap out of that thing and it's still true. Made out of 2" .120 wall HREW, and the plate steel is 1/4" for the "bucket". It's been nice knowing that even if I hit that dumb thing really hard, it's gonna hold up.

The last pic is just a showoff pic where you can kinda see the crossmember too :pimp:

Oh man, I got some scars. Nothing like yours Obi, but definitely notable.

I have to find the pictures first. Lol

This is when the real noticeable stuff started showing up.

But most of my lights were still intact and working.

This one was my truck sitting on the rockers and the t-case cross member wouldn’t let me go backwards. And John had to finger my hole so it wouldn’t leak. That was a good stick. @Smokinthehippies was there.

And the newly added drivers side run.

Then it started going down hill.
