Crazy limo company apparently was redoing Burbs back ca. '74 ... but instead of just stretching them, they added doors -- EIGHT side doors, four each side. What a hoot.

This pic /forums/images/graemlins/burb.gif just doesn't cover it no more /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Anyway, pix on my Brochures page -- just go to 1974 and it's down under the regular Burbs.

There used to be an airport limo service in the Boston area that had an entire fleet of them. I only ever saw 2WD models though. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Yeah, I note these are 454's -- hafta be, to pull that much -- so that makes them all 2WD's.

Hafta admit, 4x4 is a little silly in something that can high-center that easily!

Ah, I guess that means that you've never driven in Massachusetts in the winter. The roads turn into skating rinks far too frequently. /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

Skating rinks ... in a thirty foot long Burb /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Driven by crazed Californians unused to Eastern winters .. I just imagine this giant beast doing a gentle and slow series of donuts across the icerink that is your highway ... yowza /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I almost bought a 1960 Ambruster stageway airport limo for 1400 bucks... wish I had, because although it was in rough shape, it was still a rather odd and interesting truck. I fear it went to the shredder when I didn't buy it. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
