Crazy Electrical in a 99\' 1500 pickup, heard of this mess....

Anybody seen this problem?

The dash board is possesed.

-The Fuel guage and Temperature guage are non-functional
-The information center flashes: Battery, Security, Low Fuel
-The ABS light is on
-The transmission gear indicator selector light doesnt function

Once in a blue moon everything will work perfect, or sometimes just the fuel and temp guage come back on.

99' Chevy 1500 shortbox 4.3l 2wd

Good posibility of a cracked circuit board on the back of the dash. Probably would not hurt to pull it out and inspect it.

The other thing that is common to all of those is the ground. Look closely for a loose ground wire behind the dash.

agree with harryh3 the comopany i work for gets new trucks every year and they had this problem non stop all it was was a bad ground

I was boggled because mitchell didn't list instrument cluster wiring diagrams for a 4.3 C1500, only 5.0/5.7.
