crazy Jeep question?

My buddy has a 97 Cheerokee and he told me that he can shift in to 4lo while he is driving. This doesn't sound possible or friendly to the TC. Did somebody tell him a little fib or can you really do this? Just trying to win an argument. Thanks

I have a 90 xj with command track tc. not a good idea. I have not seen any that will do that.

My 89 has the t case where you can shift on the fly, pull the lever back an any speed. been there done that, seems weird but it works

havent tried but in a 02 jeep grand sport you can shift the tc into any gear under 55mph ive only tried high and part time...david

I've got a '95 Grand Cherokee Laredo with the 4.0 six auto and Selec-Trac. You can shift 2 wheel to 4 wheel full-time up to 65. 4 Wheel part-time on the fly also....drop into low-range above 2 MPH and you would have serious grief! /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

My 88 has 241,shift on the fly.Goes 2wd to 4H real good.Never tried to go to low above 2-3 MPH.Never heard of any that would go to low on fly.too much diff. in ratios. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

yea my friends jeep does the same thing he can shift it while hes driving which i though was a little wierd myself but i guess it works.
