crazy thrust bearing issues

I have gone through the posting I decided to ask for help. I have a 1990 suburban 3/4 ton 4x4. I love this truck. this is a long story so please hang in there.
I bought this rig 10 years ago and the bb was out and replaced with a 350. I drove the hell out of it for 6 years. All of a sudden the flex plate started rubbing the dust cover on the bell housing. That was a easy fix....Just took off cover. A month later it developed a bottom end knock. So the decision was made to take a old 400 and build it for towing. !yr and 6k later we had a rebuilt motor from a reputable shop. we installed it and added a sniper kit. it was running great. Did the 500 mile break-in and in the last 25 miles i heard a familiar sound. yup Flexplate again and it had 1/2 in play in crank.
Builder said " ballooning trans did it" . Angry with myself now, I asked him to fix the motor and asked who to take the tranny to.
Now i have a newly rebuilt motor, t400 , transfer case, and torque converter.
Drive 400 miles and decided to give it a check up.
thrust bearings have to much play again. i cussed ,cried, asked god why, and threw myself on the ground for a fit. then sent trans to a different shop to get my rebuild checked 200 bucks. checked all the lines and cleaned them out each time. New cooler. I dont know what else to do. So frustrating and I am about 10k in.
 
transmission pump bushing may be wore out causing excessive play in the torque converter to flex plate area.
 
The thrust bearing lips on the main bearing are a little over 1/16” thick or so each (x2), there’s no way you could have 1/2” of play. How are you checking this end play in the crank? Can you take a video of the movement (not running, just end play movement)?

The trans pump bushing goes around the converter snout so it could cause a wobble but I don’t see how that could push against the crank.

If you had the wrong converter or it wasn’t installed correctly (not deep enough on the pump gears) this could cause pressure on the crank, the converter would be jammed tight against the flywheel.
 
For this to happen 3x, 2 different blocks and rebuilt trans, very odd.
Have to check the common denominator.
I am at a lose to figure out on the front, maybe a sort dampener with a long water pump pulling forward on the crank. Pure speculation.
 
What’s the oil pressure like on this motor- cold and hot?
