Tell her not to worry that it'll be flames going into flat black primer by the time it sees beyond the depths of my driveway again:doah:

Thanks again for all your help with that project, and the use of your dad's shop! It is really appreciated.

Looks great Mike. Is it gonna be a short box with a modded fender, or ya gonna do a tube frame/flatbed?

I vote flat bed BTW:D

LOOKIN NICE!!! im doing this next summer.. was supposed to do it this year.. but wife is going to have a baby soon.. so no time.. had to get babys room done...

that is why im doing my swap next year... $75 is an awesome price...
I found a cab for $300 with hydro clutch already!!!!! mint condition... doors, tilt column...and all...

Looks good Mike... for an alternative to full tube 4 seater.... ;)
Sorry didn't help. I was dead beat after work and already had plans that evening. Are you gonna blazer tank it or fuel cell? I have a cell sitting here that if I don't use in my 4X I could make ya a sweet deal on.

No problem... it was cool you stopped by to check it out.

I'm probably gonna go cell if I can find a good deal on one big enough :D

I found a 22gal in Summit for $90. Also Ray gave me an old ~20 gal out of a Scout for free that I could retrofit. I'd like to have a blazer tank (bigger to hold more fuel for my thirsty Stroker) but I need to find one first.

Let me know on that cell - i'm interested and just got some $ into my truck fund :D

I dont think you want to shorten such a nice box. I think you want to sell it to me:doah: I wish i didnt tip my truck over

Will do... I'll have to get some pics of how we had to modify the floor to make a pocket for the frame to sit inside the cab, and the custom body mount in the right rear due to the factory shock indent in the frame.

this is not a maybe or a talk about item for me.. I WILL DO IT!!!!
myself, wife and son fit in my truck now.. but with a baby coming in 5 weeks.... I have no place for a car seat and all of us....
people think it is easier to buy another truck when I feel that it gives another reason to customize and fabricate.... :haha:

I did this for the dog... so she had more room. And since it's my wifes dog she's out there helping me getting dirty & greasy along side me :)

Plus I'd like to be able to carry a passenger or 3 because I have friends that would like to ride along and I have no where for them to sit.

Any updated pictures of this project or any words of advice before I jump on my project. I plan to do this to a LWB

I'm interested in the project too. I'm either going to chop my K30 down to that size or swap the CC onto a LWB Diesel if I can't get the 454 to smog.

Words of advice? GO FOR IT! :) With a long box you may have different issues than I did... the main issues were:

1) Tire clearance in the back which a quick pass with a Plasma fixed.... I will clean it up when I go to "finish" the truck.

2) Where the frame "arches up" to go under the box, I had to cut holes in the floor of the cab so the frame could arch up into the cab. This way the cab wasn't raked down at the nose. from being lifted up in the rear.

3) The passenger/rear shock mount was in the way of the body mount, so I had to just put the puck on top of the frame and drill a new hole in the body.

Those 3 items may not be an issue with a LWB frame.

Also, my front clip and the front of the cab is using 3" body lift pucks, the middle cab mounts and rear cab mounts are using normal body pucks. The front body mounts on the box are standard, and the rear of the box is 3" body pucks. It's a hybrid body lift of sorts :)

Hope that helps, PM me if you want any more info...
