crew cab for FS Truck??? Not this one.

There's something about lifted crew cabs with utility boxes that I find appealing.

The guy was pushing for money for his project. I was very short on the money so he put it up for sale.

My parts truck is up for sale, gonna try and save the other cab. 1989 Chevrolet Crew Cab. 350 TBI auto transmission. Was driving daily until it started smoking very bad on start up. Went away a few minutes after running but I haven't messed with it and have been driving my Camaro. Will include a strong running TBI motor out of an 87 Chevy. Could be a minor issue or motor could be junk. Ladder rack and utility bed included. Would make a real nice work truck. Might need some cab work depends on what your plans are with it. Asking $2,000 with other TBI motor. Truck is in CAMBRIDGE IL

I offered him the $1,000 I had. But no go.

If he's worried about smoke on startup he needs to see mine light off! :haha: Must be an 89 crew cab thing.

So...are you still saving up pennies to make this happen someday, or is the whole mission aborted?

Time was a factor on the new project. I am still focusing on the gray interior for the Suburban. I am racing a clock to get things done while I am where I can. I wanted to build the FS 3+3 to be the tow truck for the Suburban and that way who ever ended up with the Suburban was set. I know that who ever ends up with the truck will not have the bond that I do to the build.

I look at the Suburban as a bond of brothers and my friendship with my family here. So many renewed my faith and believing that good does still exist in mankind. I am bound to several members here that will never know what their friendship means to me.

I wish I was able to do more for every one here; but we are bound by the constraints of the worlds we live in. I look back and see the ways I have changed since that night. I have grown close to my God and I know that angels and prophets do walk amongst us.

Faith is a powerful thing it can lift us up and carry us in hard times and also hold our hand as the candle dims. We can only take each day as it comes and be thankful for it and that which we have been blessed with.:thumb:

It doesn't look like he is getting many bites, which doesn't surprise me. He is over priced. Maybe he'll break down and take your lower offer?

I paid $1200 for mine but it was in rougher shape.

Yeah, just tired and smokes like a steam engine on start-up. But it's still chugging along.

The guy is down to $1,300. Anyone interested in throwing in?

Martin

Yeah, the guy dropped his price. I figured he would, he was asking too much.

Let me know if you guys need a wheelman this summer. I have a bunch of time off and may be able to work something out. Does CO do temp plates?

I'm in. I think we can find him a 4x4 in better shape to start with though.

This sounds like a better idea. I think it'd be way easier to put a box on a 4x4 than convert a 2wd to 4x4 if there was even just a clean crew.
