Ok I know someone that knows someone that has a crew cab rollback sitting.. it is not running and could be parted out...

im trying to find out if they EVER made a crew cab above 10k gvrw????
my quest is to get my truck lifted back up high again....
nj laws are gvrw 10,000 and below are strict.. 10,001 gvrw and above are lift law exempt....

i know you can buy new trucks... 2004+ that are like 14kgvrw

so since this is a rollback do you think the gvrw could be 10,001 or higher? I know there are alot of crew cabs that are exactly 10,000lbs gvrw.. hence why the lift law states to that height...

my only other option is to get a crew cab and then find a title/vin from a junkyard from say a dump truck.... gvrw alot higher.. and use that....
you know.. do the merge title bs through the dmv....

so I know you are confused....but any years that had a crew cab over 10k gvrw let me know..
thanks
Jeff

I don't think they did in a light duty version.
Of course there is always special versions produced for government, special tasks, other countries...etc
The VIN plate always has the GVWR on it.
If it's a 1981 or newer CK/RV truck, the 4 VIN digit can tell you, if it's J it's 10001-14000, if it's K it's 14001-16000.
Those categories exists, so they must have produced some light duty truck with them, but a quick purusal of various commercial truck and chassis brochures only shows up to 10000, nothing more.
So, it looks like it would be extrememly rare, if at all.

Opps, I take that back.
Looking at dremu's brochures page, look in 1990 trucks 3
scroll over to the chassis cabs, they have some 10,500 and 11,000 lbs versions there, page 29. Crew cabs too, you may be in luck.

thanks for the tidbits... the only sucky part is once I hit that age of trucks... then I have to conform to their emmissions..... so cats and smog, egr, etc.... CRAP

well actually I guess I have to do what I have to do...

eventually I want to be back up in the air..
I had 12" susp lift, 3" bl and was going with rockwells and 53's!!!!!!!

I have a 90 CC dually and there are no emissions on it. The exaust is original, no converter, and no smog pump either. Not sure what the GVWR or whatever it's called is, but the title says is weighs 6200#. Oh and it's for sale....

link to the brochure??????????

OK, just checked, it's 10,000 lbs GVWR. As for price, think I have it in the classifieds for $750. I messed with it today, got the gauges to work, (blown fuse) heater works good, but must have a vacuum line off somewhere, can't gt anything but floor to work. I'm still debating on what to do with it. I need something to drive, for now Im using my buddy's truck. The major thing that it needs is a motor. It runs, but wrist pin is rattling, and just think it's tired. It got hot, and that doesn't help any. Gonna get more pics tomorrow.

Quick hijack-

The plastic clip on your diverter door is broken. Fix that, and you'll have your vents and defrost again.

just a idea if you want 2.5 top loaders and 53 " tires . why not buy a c-40-c60 under 18k gvw and non air brakes. then swap the crew cab and box on it. then you would have the big fender flip front end and stiffer frame with easy of 2.5 top loader swap.

cuz I own a chevy now...

well actually the c40/c60 are alot wider....

dont want something that wide....
also it is funny cuz all I want to do is add a 3" bl to my truck... that is it.. years ago i wanted rocks and mich's..... i am already really high for our trails.. however 3" bl would give me enough clearance as right now I can stuff my tires and they rub everywhere....

oh well i am going to do the crew cab... that is a def..
found one for $300... full truck.....
1984 crew cab with sm465 (manual linkage)

gonna go look at it soon...
:wink1:
