I searched and found several posts about people wanting to do this, but none that had completed the swap. I'm going to do this swap on my '75 that I just cut the top on. I need to know what, if any modifications need to be made to the frame. I'm pretty sure that I have to add a crossmember for the rear cab mounts, but what else? The cab is from an '85 1 ton.

couldnt you chop the back off of the burb and weld the back part of a truck cab on? more work but just a thought

I could, and that was my plan, but it's very rusted. I also found a perfect crew cab to use, so that's what I'm gonna do.

I don't think you would have to modify too much, because the frame is long enough to support the crew cab. You may have to move body mounts and cross members like you mentioned, but that should about be the long and short of it.

On mine, using a shortbox frame, I had to cut clearance notches into the bottom of the cab so that the frame would actually come part way into the cab. This is because where the frame "ramps" up in the back for the box. Had I not done this, the cab would have been about 5" higher in the back than in the front.
