Crew Cab System?

I'm now the proud owner of a '79 Crew Cab. This thing has a pretty rough interior, but it came with all the plastic, trim, and seats to redo it. I plan on incorporating a system into the truck as well when I tear it down. So I'm accumulating parts to do this. Here is what I have so far:

12" ESX sub with Kenwood Amp that work well together (had these in another truck before)
2-6.5 3 way speakers in good condition
2-6x9 impulse speakers in good condition

...and that's it.

The crew is very limited on space for a box, believe it or not. I think I could maybe fit a sub behind the rear seat with limited airspace. However, here is my master plan:

1 Good Deck to serve all functions below, as well as play CDs and MP3's

2 Not audiophile competition quality speakers, but maybe components of some sort...sounding good to both rows of seating.

3 Sub for low bass.

4 DVD player with fold down screen out of headliner for rear seat passengers

5 all electronics for DVD player, amp, ect, will be stored away somewhere. Possible storage for this could be incorporated into a custom center console. DVD and CD storage could be in console as well. As a result, a small DVD player that could eject out the back of the console would be nice.

Any suggestions? Jeers? Friendly Advice?

Does a CC have the same room behind the rear seat as a standard cab truck?

I have a 12" and two 6x9's behind my seat and know where to get a great and cheap 12" box

Looks pretty high end in all respects, the stuff you've chosen

Behind the seat space is minimal and probably about what you'd find in a mini truck. Maybe those slimline 4" deep subs???

I can fab my own box...I've done it in the past at a friends stereo shop, but those years seem like forever ago...

Just FYI in my burb I have an Alpine headunit and Crossfire speakers. I really honestly think Crossfire makes the best speaker for the money. Headunits are prety standard. Cant help you with the DVD player. As far as amps go, the amp for my speakers is Crossfire 50 watt x 4 channels RMS and it kicks ass. I cheaped out on my sub system and went with 2 Rockford Fosgate 10" "whatever the second cheapest model is" and a Clarus Profile amp. Major bling factor on the amp. I love my stereo and would recomend the same thing to anyone else.

Can you get a measurement of behind the seat ?

As I mentioned in a different thread, you can get a slimline Pioneer sub for about 100 bucks

Keep in mind you may want to angle the speakers in the doors with rings or enclosures so they don;t point straight at each other
