I was wondering if any of y'all have built a Crewcab trazer or if anyone has any pics of one....i'm thinking I'm gonna build one....also if you know of any issues that I could tackle now in the planning phase I would be very greatful...the only one that I have seen come close to this is the Orange truck on ORD...but I think that is a regular crewcab frame not sure though....thanks for any input guys.

You want to put a crew cab on a Blazer frame? The back door would be above the rear tire.Better off finding a truck frame.Or even a Sub frame.WB on Blazer is 106" Sub. is 129" Long bed is 132" Shortbed is 116" Crew Cab 154".There is a guy on Pirates that put a crewcab on a shortbed.Rear tires just cleared the cab.

I guess you could put a crewcab on a Blazer frame. You would have to fab wheelwells into the rear doors.Like the fullsize Waggys.Would need to channel the floor under the rearseat to clear the frame. So you wouldn't need a huge BL.Then you would be left with I guess about a foot of frame behind the cab.Maybee a little more.

I just sold off a crewcab to a guy that is putting it on a Sub. frame. This should be cool and just about right.

ORD started with a crewcab frame and shortened the WB.

Cousin Willard, (ORD's crewcab) was a full long box crewcab that got cut down. There are a couple cewcab swaps on here. I believe they were done on either short box reg cab frames or long box reg cab frames.

i think its best auited name would have to be crazer but i dont think a crew cab would fit on a blazer frame due to the part of the frame that is higher to clear the axle because on my trazer the body cuts off right where the frame begins to elevate and crew cabs if i remember correctly are flat along the whole floor so the cab would be leaning forward a bit to say the least

There's a guy here, MTmike, he put a crewcab on a reg cab shortbed frame. He had to modify the floor of the cab because of the frame that kicked up in the back. I think your best bet would be to start with a suburban, you'll have a nice straight frame in the middle plus you will have the gas tank in a good location

I say go for it. I've wanted to see someone shape wells into the doors. I thinks its a really good idea. Have just enough frame to make a flatdeck with a spare tilted up or even a nice toolbox.

Thanks for all of the feedback guys...right after I posted this I looked at someone's build thread and saw the hump in the frame...probably should have done a little more research before asking...but am still thinking about giving it a try..what the hell right?...so i'll probably be selling my Tub, doors, topper(that's what I call it), and the rear door to make room...Stomis thanks for the encouragement....going out to so some measuring now...wish me luck

What he said :D

Thanks for all of the input guys...not exactly sure what i'm gonna do yet...just don't want to build the same old K5 or the same old Trazer.... I do know that i'll have a rust free tub, doors, topper adn rear door for sale pretty quick though

if youre really into fabricating stuff you could just cut the "bed" part of the blazer off and some how make an extended cab that would be cool ive never seen one before and it woulnt just be that same old trazer

ahhh....that's a good one Blazerboss...now the creative juices are a flowin'........what to do...what to do?

Dude you rock....I think I found a cab today too....you are the man...now time to get to it!!!! Ever see anyone else do this??

There were some aftermarket Ex cab square bodies made. See em on evilBay now then.

The 4 doors is more 'practical' for getting into the larger cab though. I'd use some "G" series Van doors and front footwell parts to help create the new rear doors/fender area.

I'm doing it the easy way...bought a crew cab, gonna shorten it to my liking.

I'm not shortening mine up nearly that much. Aiming for 133-138" wheelbase with a 5'6" box. Currently stripping the works down to the bare frame. That ugly orange and white abomination in my sig is what I started with.

Oh yeah...stock wb for a crew cab is 164.5".

I did entertain the thought of a 6 pack cab on a K5 frame a few years back. I think the wheel arch portion of the van doors could be made to work on the rear doors of the 6 pack cab...but I've never tried it.

Got me thinking when i mangle the cab on my sub or get tired of it or find a cheap 4x crew im going to swap. the sub frame seems to be a better way to go it already has a better frame in that it it flat belly and the rear spring hangers are on the upside of the rear hump. all the trucks and such are mounted on the bottom.

When i did the 64 swap i kept the front mount stock and the new whell base is 135.5
