I'm looking to buy a crimper for Delphi Weather pack connectors. Does anyone have one that they use and would recommend or ones to stay away from? It would be nice to find one that does the conductor crimp as well as the seal crimp. I'm not wanting to break the bank buying one either so keep that in mind as well.
 
Well the official Packard one is going to set you back $300-$400. This is the right way to go if you assemble these professionally, as the crimps will be just right for tensile strength, conductivity, etc. So if you can borrow one of these, that's a great way to do a few connectors.

What I do is use a more generic crimper like the one posted above and then solder the core crimp.
 
from what i remember from researching them too, is that you need one for 14 and up, but if you wanna do 10 or 12's, which techically aren't weatherpacks, ya need the other crimper... figures i need both...
 
I have a ratcheting one that has been very useful. Seems each crimp needs two hits where as ones I've used in the past would do it in one shot.

They have a black piece on the other side of them that holds the pin in the proper position which makes it really hard to screw up the crimp.

They crimp both the gasket and the wire at the same time.

How many will you be crimping? Do you have a set of our Pro-Crimp spark plug wire crimpers? If you do we have a weathertight die that is interchangeable with the spark plug wire jaws...?
