Somehow along the way of building my blazer, the steering wheel got rotated about 90 dgrees out. I m pretty sure the wheel itself can only go on one way. Could the lift have caused it? It does have a drop pitman arm already. Is the joint at the steering box adjustabe or splined. Any suggestions would be great.

If you've lifted the rig and haven't adjusted your draglink that is what's causing the steering wheel to be off center. Not only will the wheel be off center but it will not turn as far in one direction as the other until you adjust it properly.

I think i have noticed u turns not working so well anymore. Is the drag link between the steering box pitman arm drop? I think we looked at this once, but it looked like there wasnt enough adjustment length left. Any suggestions now?

The draglink goes from the pitman arm on the steering box to the steering arm on the driverside knuckle. How much lift did you install? Is the draglink the stock one or did you install a dropped draglink, raised steering arm, or a steering arm spacer?

So if you have a dropped "steering arm" then you still have the stock draglink and it should be almost parallel with the ground (tilted slightly downward on the rear side) If not then you need more than just the dropped "steering arm". By steering arm are you talking about the pitman arm that's attached to the steering box?

Actually it might have a drop on the bottom of the steering box and also a raised arm at the knuckle attachment. ill have to take a closer look tomorrow in the daylight. maybe i can even get a pic posted to make it clearer.

A pic with the truck sitting at ride height would be great. A shot that clearly shows the angle of the draglink.

Set the wheels straight ahead, then disconnect the drag link from pittman arm, center steering wheel in the gear (i.e. count number of turns lock to lock and put wheel in center - you may have to de-normalize a bit to have the wheel straight up. Then adjust the drag link to fit the new distance between arm and pittman.

You'll end up with full travel in the gear and a centered wheel.
