I replaced both rear bedsides on my 75 Jimmy with replacement patch panels that extend from the door to just past the rear wheel opening and when you look down the side of the bed there is an obvious flare starting from the edge of the patch panel to the taillight. Both sides have this problem and I’m not sure what happened. Has anyone ever seen this problem? The patch panels fit nice and flush and I didn’t have to massage or tweak the stock sheet metal to get them to fit once I cut out the stock rusted bedsides. I was careful to move around while welding the panels and tried not to get any area too hot. It’s too drastic to be “fixed” or hidden with body filler. I’ll try to post some pictures tomorrow to show the flare. Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Please post photos. Would love to see this as I am considering taking on the same project. Where did you get your panels?
