I think I got a connection to some 3/4 ton gear out of a 77! The guy wants me to make an offer, is 500 resonable? I don't know the miles and I haven't seen it yet, but I will take care of that soon! I wanna go look at it and pull the cover, he says it has 4.10's! That is soo what I want! Now, how do I calculate and make sure it does? and I know to look for nicks, how much damage to the R&P is acceptible? Also, this is a straight swap, right? Thanks for all the help!
'77 is a great swap in for your Blazer. Its the start of the 'second design' axles which ran up to '91. You will be able to get parts very easily for these axles.
$500 is what I sell a pair of mine for. It wouldnt hurt to start lower and work your way up if the guy is not happy with the 'lower' offers.

Oh, BTW, when I came across a dead K30 sitting behind a shop once, I went up to the guy to ask what he wanted for the axles. He wanted me to make an offer, but I insisted on asking him what HE wanted for them. I was ready to pay up to $800 for the pair, but when I asked him what HE wanted for them, he told me $250!!!! I paid him right there and went to work on dismantling the axles from the truck. I also gave him a check and got a reciept from him for proof.
It might be wise to 'insist' on what the guy 'needs' to have for them. They might be cheaper than you think!!!
