cross over steering idea?

Is there any reason you cant take the knuckle off the drivers side and swap it to the passenger side? You would cut off the tie rod mount and use the 3 studs for your arm. You would just need to stack the tie rods. It looks like it will match up. This would be on a dana 44.
 
Caster,camber and steering axis inclination are all determined in the end of the axle tube i belive, so that would all swap over fine. the only problem would be with the ackerman,but since your talking about using a bolt on arm on top you can deal with the offset required there. you also have the little axle stop that keepts the joint from over extending, you would need to figure out something there. sounds like it could work...
