Here I go again trying to figure this out. If you are familiar with a banks sidewinder turbo on the 6.2 liter diesels, you know that the driver side exhaust manifold routs the cross over pipe in front of the engine (right in front of the cross member) to the turbo.

So, the guy over at West Texas Off Road is going to rebuild and plum my gear box for crossover with assist. The problem is the dang pitman arm hitting the exhaust. I've read that a lot of people are having problems with the arm hitting the cross member so it will definitely hit my exhaust.

Solution? Fabtech makes a 4" drop pitman arm for a 78 ford (which should fit my shaft). Logically, I think this should work. What I'm trying to figure out is, why haven't other people used this same part to clear the cross member. maybe its not the magic fix I think it is.

Thouhts?

I can can post pics of the area in question tomorrow. Does anyone have a pic of a 4" drop pitman arm for a 78 Ford?

I was just checking that out. The picture is dark but I can see it. The guy at 4wheel parts said the arm is an additional 4 inches of drop. If that is correct, it should have about 6 to 7" over all. I'm not sure yours has that. I need to be sure. Obviously, I don't want to order the part until I know it will work.

Its always something
