Cross-over steering ?

I have read some on crossover steering and dont know if its not adviseable for a street (75%) driven truck.-'75 K10 SWB.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I think the only drawback to x-over on the street is that you will not have a factory swaybar. I drive without a swaybar and x-over on a weekly basis and i have had no problems at all.

Your truck will sway more as you take those hairpin turns at speed !


If I get too tired of the sway, I plan on making a custom anti-sway bar from a stockcar set up.

My sway bar still worked with crossover, though I have not used it in about 6 years. I would say that it is more about spring stiffness. A real soft spring may cause some white knuckle, but I would ditch the sway bar for crossover any day.

My current springs are stiff enough that I don't notice much sway. If you have very soft springs, taking off the sway bar will cause much more sway. My turning radius seems tighter with the crossover also.

If you are worried about the swaybar, you can call teraflex and get an -antirock sway system.
I threw my swaybar in the trash, and never noticed a diff. I had stiff springs though

I run about 5" of lift on 35s with x over and no sway bar. Just adjust your driving style to account for the extra sway. I use a panhard too but that tightens the steering rather than having anything to do with sway.

im the same way, my skyjacker springs are like solid pieces of steal. i can jump up and down on the front bumper and be lucky to move the truck a inch. i had my sway bar off before i went crossover. and sadly i did cross over about 4 months ago and thats all it seen so far was street.

So what I am seeing is that it works just fine for the street-RIGHT? I am going to build this truck for camping and playing in the mud/snow(when it happens). I will also hit the trails but no crawlin. Thanks
