a member of another board is looking for a trans/case crossmember. he has a 350/203, and i have a 465/205 crossmember. will these crossmembers interchange?

i believe the 350/203 uses the flat style cross member and the 465/205 uses the W shaped. they will require differant adapter foot height. but correct me if i am wrong...

every thing 84 and older used a flat crossmember, everything 85 and up used a W or S crossmember.

i think the 203 crossmember is shorter than the others, so it would push the tcase up more if used on something else. the 205 has a bigger cut out for the CV (or is it the 208)

i know there is some differences that you wouldn't notice unless you had all side by side.

Between my two '73s, one a 350-sm465-205, and the other (parts junker) was a 350-350-203, the members were the same height (and flat), but the automatic one was mounted a little further back on the frame (not too much problem there), but the bigger problem was the giant oval mouting holes in the middle of it were shifted right-left, compared to my sm465 one. Go figure....
