So I've been thinking about redoing my shackle flip brakets and tying them together with a crossmember. I have never seen one done like that before and was wondering if theres a reason why?

Tying shackle flip brakets with a crossmember is a good idea, but normally no one does it because the stock shackle hanger doesn't have one, just a little brace.
The biggest side load is on the front of the spring where the spring is mounted directly to the frame, the shackle take all of the side load and flexes.
