Opinions needed...
Started installing crossover parts yesterday (ported 2wd box, new to me flattops, new balljoints, draglink, etc.). The new knuckles are tapered to accept the tierod from the top, where the old knuckles were from bottom, this causes the tierod to hit the leaf springs. Options I can think of are...
1. High-Steer, have clearance for this, but don't see the need and not sure how stock knuckles would handle the load, imo would make hydro assist a big pita
2. 1" zerorate for front end, this allows me to keep the tierod where it belongs, but I don't really need or want the extra lift
3. Is it possible to retaper the knuckles and run a tapered insert to run the tierod from the bottom up as before? Or is this not a durable/good long term solution?
2&3 will be very easy to add a hydro assist cylinder too as a plus.
Also...Front is 4" superlifts and ORD shackles, all new bushings/u bolts 1.5 years ago
