A freind of mine is thinking about getting a straight axle conversion for his 99 chevy truck. I am encouraging this of course. I offered him my front 10 bolt because i am planning on gettin a 60 soon /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif. I was wondering if he could use the ORD crossover steering system forhis truck. I looked at the steering box from underneath and it moves left and right, like an older 2wd steering box. I figure that that would work, and with the 10 bolt get that crossover system. I just wanted to know if that would work or not. Any experience or suggestions or comments are welcome!! Thanks

The "99" chevy truck is a driver side drop T-case and the SFA uses a passenger side drop T-case so he would need to change T-cases as well. As for the steering box, that should work for crossover steering but he will need a D44 passenger side flat top knuckle and have it machined for the crossover arm.

How much is it for EVERYTHING needed for the D44 crossover steering? I was looking through the prices, and I know there are some options, but a base price and a price with all options would be great since I can't seem to add it all up.
Thanks,
Andrew /forums/images/graemlins/usaflag.gif

OK, you'll need:
Pitman arm - $70
Steering arm - $150
Draglink - $95
End kit - $110
RH knuckle machine job - $60 if you send it here
Pair of D44 knuckles (wrecking yard, or sometimes we have them available)

Nice to have's
Install kit (studs, cones, lock nuts) - $40.00

You'll need to get it mocked up on the truck and get us a measurement on the length of the draglink, we don't have that measurement for the IFS trucks.

Then you won't have to measure for the draglink, we can get you one that will work without the measurement. But the guy with the '99 will need to measure.
