i installed crossover steering on the k5 (1986) , PUT IN A 1985-86' 2WD steering box. Now when I turn the wheel to the right the tires go left, turn to the left the tires go right.????? Did they send me the wrong box. I thought all boxes were the same??

The pitman arm needs to be pointing back, not forward. If it's going forward, that's your problem.

If it's pointing back, you got a box from a van, you need one from a pickup

its definitely pointing back (towards the steering wheel). can u tell by looking at it if it is a van or truck box?

well crap!!! guess ill be calling y'all this week to order one.. this is the second time they have gave me the wrong one….

Just relearn how to drive? :)

Yes, the reverse gear is rare. They use the same housing, spool valve, pitman, etc, but the worm gear and inside of the power piston are cut in the opposite pitch.
