crud in fuel ?

my truck has been stumbling when i floor it so i checked and replaced the fuel filter that fixed it . but now its doing it again i cut open the old filter and its full of lilttle black pieces of plastic or sumthing , is a hose rotting away ? junk in both of my tanks? pump ? gad this stinks ... it an 81 p/u with a crate 305 a jet rebuilt quadrajet a th350 and dual tanks . thank all -Andy

yeah i thought so , is it a first ? i went got a full tank of gas on the riht ,switched it and left it and it seems to hae cleared up but it still doesnt run like it used to ....

Do you get the same thing when you run off the other tank?
All that crud is prolly in the carb. You might have to take it apart and clean everything.

It sounds like you need to replace both of your gas tanks. I have a set of side saddle tanks from my 86 that I want to get rid of. Give me a holler, they're in perfect condition.

lol, my nova has a rusted out fuel tank, so I currently have 3 fuel filters on it, and have no problems with it!! I've tried 1 then 2, and now there is no junk sticking between the needle and seat (?) of my carb.!!
