Cruise control switch

Anyone ever order a cruise control switch from Classic Parts? If so what brand was it and were you happy with the quality? I just ordered one from them and was curious to know before it ships so in case I need to cancel the order. They were cheaper than my local parts store even with the shipping cost.

bought mine from LMC and its actually really good quality....especially since I couldn't find it locally...

(I know that not what you asked...but LMC and classis are practically the same thing...)

Do you have any trouble shooting tips?
How did you decide the switch was bad?

How did you decide the switch was bad?

I determined my switch was bad when I noticed my (at the time broken) cruse control worked only when my wipers were set to high. New switch, works perfectly!

I just got a Cruise\Wiper\TurnSignal switch for my 91 from Classic Parts. I haven't got the tools to pull the wheel yet, so I can't comment on how well it works, but it looks good on my shelf. I don't really have much to compare it to since the stock one is totally trashed.

In my uneducated non professional opinion I think it's ok. I don't know what the alternative is.

Just got home from work and my cruise switch was here waiting for me. Looks like tomorrow i'll get it installed and see if my cruise control will then work (hoping so) otherwise it's back to testing the rest of the components and see what else might be needed.

No need to pull the steering wheel to replace the switch. I went to the wrecking yard last weekend and pulled a switch without removing the wheel or any other piece for that matter. Once you disconnect the wiring from under the dash and pull the switch lever out of the blinker switch you can carefully pull the wires up through the column cover. If you're smart you'll first tie a nylon string or something as strong and small to the existing wiring to pull the new wires back into the column.

I'm going to replace the entire turn signal stalk. Are you saying I can just pull it out and push the new one back in? That would be nice...The steering wheel is 90 degrees off of true center, and the signal cam spring or whatever it is needs to be replaced as well, so I need to pull it for that anyway. But the less I need to take apart the better.

Also, while trying to troubleshoot it (the windshield wipers don't always turn on with the switch) I saw smoke coming from where the stalk goes into column. Just another reason why I want to take it apart and inspect it. I'm really not looking for more work, but I am curious and I've never gotten into this before.

Ok, I got my new cruise control switch installed today and it fixed my cruise control. I also just want to say that the steering wheel WILL need to come off in order to replace the switch. The steering column I removed a switch from at the junk yard was actually in a van and there must be a difference as there was ALOT more room for the wires to fish in/out of the column.
