crush sleeve on a D60?

who come my D60 install kit comes with a crush sleeve? i have torn down my d60 and as far as i can tell it didn't have a crush sleeve on it.

Some D60 pinions use a crush sleeve, and some use shims. If your gears did not have a crush sleeve originally, you do not need it. Even it you do have the type of pinion that is designed for a crush sleeve, a lot of people replace it with a spacer and shims.

Your 60 has shims to set the pinion preload. When you took it all apart did you notice the little shims around the pinion? Those replace the crush sleeve.

yeh it's got shims on it. i figured that was it.

The crush sleeve is for ball joint style axles. I believe most/all of the other parts in the diff are the same so it's easier to add one or two pieces to an existing kit than create another package and part number.
